Celebrating Community, Creativity and a Brighter Space at Poole Hospital
University Hospitals Dorset were the lucky winners of our 2025 NHS Charities Together Conference Prize Draw
We always enjoy being able to give some imaging away and normally ask that the art is installed within 6 months but this installation turned out to be something truly special.
Instead of choosing a single artwork, the hospital’s Arts Team invited the East Dorset Photography Club to get involved, sparking a community project that brought staff, patients and local photographers together.

Printed at 3m long x 1m high
The club curated 24 stunning photographs capturing life in Poole, from wildlife and coastline to familiar landscapes loved by the community. Staff and patients then voted for their favourite 12, creating a collection that feels personal, meaningful and rooted in place.

Max Carter, who led the project on behalf of the East Dorset Photography Club explained:
“We arranged a special day out for the club in Poole tasking members to come up with striking and unusual images of Poole. We decided to work in the square photo format to suit the location, and we spent some time ensuring that they were arranged in the most pleasing way.”
Printed at 3m long x 1m high, with each image at 50cm x 50cm, the final installation has transformed the waiting area at Poole Hospital. The colours are vibrant, the print quality exceptional, and the reaction from staff and patients has been instant admiration.

Laura Joy, Arts Manager at University Hospitals Dorset, shared her thanks:
“It looks absolutely beautiful, the print is really great quality, the colours so vibrant and is already getting much admiration from staff and patients. Thank you all at Grosvenor Interiors, for brightening up such a drab space.”
This project represents everything we love about community-led design in healthcare: collaboration, creativity, and spaces that feel welcoming for everyone who passes through them.
