Over the last 10 years, we’ve worked in hospitals up and down the country and with numerous charities big and small to help create better places for patients to get better. Our mission is to make hospitals a more comfortable and reassuring environment for patients and the families that are there to support them, as well as the staff who work day in, day out to care for them.

During that time, we’ve come to understand the challenges faced by nurses and other hospital staff who want to make their ward better for their patients but frequently come up against the battle to secure funding for improvements. Even with all the resilience and patience that years of nursing will have helped you to build up, we know how frustrating it can be!

Along the way, we’ve worked alongside a number of different people within NHS Charities and formed brilliant working relationships with them as they’ve helped us to help wards within their trust’s hospitals. One person who we’ve worked with particularly closely over the years is Debbie Adlerstein, currently the Head of Business Development for Leicester Hospitals Charity and it is with great pleasure that we can share the brilliant news that she will be joining the team at Grosvenor Interiors for one day a week to offer a specialised advisory service for NHS Charities who want to make their wards better for their patients.

Debbie has a wealth of knowledge in fundraising and we have been lucky enough to have worked with her on numerous projects across all three hospitals in Leicester; Leicester Royal Infirmary, Glenfield Hospital and Leicester General Hospital.

“I started at Leicester Hospitals Charity nearly 12 years ago as the Community and Events Fundraising Manager.  I have been very successful with fundraising, donor retention, building strong relationships both inside and outside the hospitals, running events and managing projects.  One of the best ways I have found to get the money coming in, is to show the donor exactly how their funding can be used, as shown here in the recently opened clinical research facility.

By managing the project and bringing together the necessary teams, the refurbishments are coordinated and happen in a timely fashion.  I have now worked on so many successful projects that I am increasingly being contacted for advice both in and outside of Leicester.

This is something I am hugely passionate about, therefore I have offered my services to Grosvenor to share my knowledge so we can make a difference to more patients and healthcare providers throughout the UK.”

We’re looking forward to working with Debbie over the coming weeks and months and we’re excited for her to use her know-how to help you create a better place in your hospital for patients to get better.

If you’ve got something in mind for your ward but you’re not sure where to start when it comes to raising the money to get the project off the ground, make sure you get in touch. Even if you’re still at the ideas stage, we can help you every step of the way; from planning, to pitching your idea to your chosen charity, to getting that last lick of paint on the wall.
